Winter Break SAQ Clinics

We are excited to announce our SAQ (Speed, Agility, Quickness) series that will be held during Winter Break!  We will hold two separate sessions, with time slots for the following age groups:  10-13 and 14-18

It's what every coach desires in their players, and what parents and athletes are constantly seeking more of --- speed, agility, and quickness.  These 3 day clinics are designed to teach athletes the key elements of developing these vital athletic attributes.  Each day athletes will work with our Sports Performance staff on proper movement preparation, motor control, skill development, and will get plenty of repetitions in each exercise and drill.

While other athletes sit idle this winter take advantage of your free time by signing up for one (or both!) of these SAQ clinics.  If you have been curious about River City Sports Performance and our programs, this is also a great chance to see what we are all about.  If you have any questions please contact Christopher at toph@rivercitysportsperformance.com or call 971-217-7273

Here are the details:
Session 1:  Tues, Dec 20 --- Wed, Dec 22, 2011
Session 2:  Tues, Dec 27---- Thurs, Dec 29, 2011

Time:   Ages 10-13       9am-10:30am
            Ages 14-18      11am-12:30am
Cost:    $45 per session ($75 for both sessions)

ACL injuries: Common, but preventable

A recent article in the New York Times discusses ACL injuries and how they effect female athletes (particularly basketball and soccer). Click here to read the article

The harsh reality is that female athletes are more at risk for ACL injuries.  Soccer athletes are the MOST at risk group.  More important to note, however, is that a majority of these occurrences are PREVENTABLE.   Functional strength, balance/proprioception, and landing/running mechanics need to be developed and enhanced.   River City Sports Performance specializes in sport-specific training that addresses the risk factors for these and other injuries.   Want to know more about injury prevention and our programming?  Contact us today.
